Here are some tips for placing electrodes for an electrocardiogram (ECG):

• Prepare the skin: Cleanse the chest with alcohol wipes. Avoid using alcohol or other substances that remove skin oils, as alcohol can degrade ECG performance

• Mark lead placements: Find and mark the correct lead placements for the 12 lead ECG

• Apply electrodes: Apply electrodes to the chest at V1 - V6. For accurate measurement, place the electrodes correctly

• Apply lead 1 and 2: Apply lead 1 to the left arm and lead 2 to the right arm

• Connect wires: Connect wires from V1 to V6 to the recording device

• Test the signal: Connect the limb leads to the recording device and test the signal

• Apply adhesion: Firmly press around the perimeter of the electrode to ensure adhesion, but avoid pressing directly on the center. Pressing directly on the center can cause the gel to leak under the pad and prevent it from sticking to the skin

• Use wet gel electrodes: Use wet gel electrodes designed for MRI applications
