Bixa Botanical Gulab Phul Powder is made with gulab phul, which is a perennial bushy shrub reaching approximately 1 to 2 meters in height with large, showy and colorful flowers. Rose is used in perfumery and to make rose water and "rose concrete". The Rose flower petals are also edible, which may be used to flavor food, as a garnish, as an herbal tea, and preserved in sugar as gulkand.

As per Ayurveda, Rose petals supports overall body cooling agent, healthy kidney functions and cardiac swelling. Rose petals help to promote skin wellness and refrigerant action. In Ayurveda, Gulkand is useful in Vitiated Pitta, heartburn, hyperacidity, burning sensation in the intestine, urinary tract, and general tonic. The scientific study of the Rose plant shows the presence of several components such as terpenes, glycosides, flavonoids, and anthocyanins that have beneficial effects on human health. The decoction of dried rose petals was used as a diuretic and recommended for relieving the fever, breast pain and menstrual problems. In Iranian traditional medicine, rose petals were cooked with sugar or honey and used for cooling the mind and body.

Externally, rose petals powder, when applied with cucumber juice as a face pack, supports hydration and gives a cooling and glowing effect to the skin. Rosewater traditionally was supposed to be used as an antiseptic agent for eye washing and mouth disinfecting.
