Satranidazole संक्रमण निर्माण करणा-या जीवाणुंच्या विकासाला मंद करुन त्यांना नष्ट करते. सैट्रनिडाजोल, इमिडाजोल रिंगच्या C2मध्ये C-Nलिंकेजचा एक आदर्श नाइट्रोइमिडाजोल आहे. हे नाइट्रो समूह कमी करुन डीएनएला नष्ट करते.
