Diclofenac diethylamine + Methyl Salicylate + Menthol + Alcohol is a combination of four medicines: Diclofenac diethylamine, Methyl Salicylate, Menthol, and Alcohol. Diclofenac diethylamine and Methyl Salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which work by blocking the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Menthol dilates the blood vessels causing a sensation of coldness, followed by an analgesic effect. Menthol also acts as a penetration enhancer, increasing the penetration of drugs when applied on the skin, to give a faster onset of action. Alcohol acts as an analgesic and anesthetic and can reduce the sensation of both physical and emotional pain.

Vovedic is prescribed to give relief from pain and inflammation due to strains, sprains, backache, or arthritis.
Do not apply Vovedic to large areas of skin or near sensitive areas such as private parts or on broken or injured skin.
It is important that you don't cover any area of skin treated with the gel with any dressings or bandages unless advised by the doctor.
Remember to wash your hands after applying Vovedic, unless this is the area being treated.
Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose, and rinse thoroughly in case of accidental contact or seek medical help in case of swallowing.
Do not smoke or go near naked flames as Vovedic increases the risk of severe burns.
Vovedic may cause your skin to become more sensitive to sunlight than normal. Do not use sunbeds, and protect any treated areas from strong sunlight until you know how your skin reacts.

Q. How should Vovedic Injection be administered?

Vovedic Injection should only be given by a healthcare professional. It can be given deep into the muscle (intramuscularly), preferably in the buttock, under the skin (subcutaneously), or directly into a vein (intravenously) as a bolus and not as an infusion. The dose should not exceed the prescribed quantity and injection should not be given for more than 2 days.

It is important to know that Vovedic Injection may increase your chance of having a heart attack or stroke. The risk is higher if you take higher doses and have used the medicine for a long time. Additionally, Vovedic Injection may cause ulcers, bleeding, or holes in your stomach and intestine. If you experience any such problems, consult your doctor immediately.

Vovedic Injection is effective in relieving pain and inflammation. It is used for various sorts of pain such as sprains, strains, and other injuries. It is also helpful in various types of arthritis, gout, pain, and inflammation following surgery.

Long-term use and high doses of Vovedic Injection may cause renal problems such as protein or blood in urine and painful urination. Patients who are at maximum risk of developing kidney problems include dehydrated people, individuals with heart failure, impaired kidney function, hypertension, and the elderly. Hence, for such patients kidney function monitoring is recommended.

No, Vovedic Injection is not a narcotic. It belongs to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) group of medicines.

No, Vovedic Injection does not get you high. It does not have an abuse potential (drug-seeking behavior) and does not cause physical or psychological dependence. However, if you do not feel well, consult your doctor.

Q. Does Vovedic Injection make you drowsy?

Vovedic Injection can cause drowsiness and also dizziness, fatigue (tiredness) and visual disturbances. However, it is not very common and may not affect everyone. If you experience these symptoms avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Q. Can Vovedic Injection be taken during pregnancy?

You should not take Vovedic Injection during the last 3 months of pregnancy as it may cause harmful effects on your baby. Use of Vovedic Injection can also lead to reduced labor (premature delivery). Hence, it is advised to avoid using Vovedic Injection during the first 6 months of pregnancy also. In some cases, Vovedic Injection may be prescribed in pregnant women only if the benefits outweigh the risks involved with its use in pregnant women.
