How Telma-MCT Products work

Chlorthalidone + Metoprolol Succinate + Telmisartan1 is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. Chlorthalidone + Metoprolol Succinate + Telmisartan2 is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate, while Chlorthalidone + Metoprolol Succinate + Telmisartan3 is a calcium channel blocker which works by blocking the hormone angiotensin to further relax blood vessels.

  • You have been prescribed Telma-MCT for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent stroke and heart attack.
  • It may cause more frequent urination. Take it at least 4 hrs before bedtime to avoid waking up to urinate.
  • It may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
  • It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
  • Telma-MCT may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
  •  Do not stop taking Telma-MCT suddenly without talking to your doctor.

People should not take Telma-MCT 50/12.5 Tablet ER if they are allergic to telmisartan, chlorthalidone, metoprolol, or any other ingredients present in it, cannot pass urine (anuria), have severe heart rhythm problems, or have untreated heart failure.
