Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate is a combination of three medicines: Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate1, Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate2 and Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate3. Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate1 is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate2 is a steroid. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy.
