How Solitral Products work
Alfuzosin + Solifenacin is a combination of two medicines: Alfuzosin + Solifenacin1 and Alfuzosin + Solifenacin2 which relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Alfuzosin + Solifenacin1 is an alpha-blocker while Alfuzosin + Solifenacin2 is an antimuscarinic. They work by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. This prevents frequent, urgent or uncontrolled urination.

Frequently asked questions about Solitral Products
Frequently asked questions about Solitral Products
Q. What is Solitral Capsule ER used for?
Solitral Capsule ER is used to relieve both voiding symptoms (difficulty starting urination) and storage symptoms (frequent or urgent urination) in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urine flow and by reducing bladder overactivity to ease urgency and frequency.
Q. Who should avoid taking Solitral Capsule ER?
Individuals with certain conditions such as urinary retention, severe liver impairment, or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma should avoid taking Solitral Capsule ER. Always talk to your doctor before starting Solitral Capsule ER, especially if you have any existing health conditions.
Q. What are the serious side effects of Solitral Capsule ER?
The serious side effects of Solitral Capsule ER include dizziness or fainting (possibly due to low blood pressure), severe abdominal pain, difficulty urinating, allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, lips, or throat, and prolonged painful erection (priapism). Seek medical help immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
Q. Are there any precautions to take while taking Solitral Capsule ER?
You should avoid alcohol, as it can increase dizziness and the risk of fainting. Also, take Solitral Capsule ER after meals to reduce stomach upset, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help prevent constipation.
Q. Can Solitral Capsule ER affect my heart rhythm?
Yes, although rare, Solitral Capsule ER may increase the risk of irregular or abnormal heart rhythms, which can be serious. Contact your doctor if you notice unusual heartbeats, dizziness, or chest discomfort.
Q. What should I do if I miss a dose of Solitral Capsule ER?
If you miss a dose of Solitral Capsule ER, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Q. Can Solitral Capsule ER cause an erection?
Yes. A rare but serious side effect of Solitral Capsule ER is priapism (persistent painful penile erection unrelated to sexual activity). It is a medical emergency if priapism lasts for more than 4 hours. You should seek medical help immediately if it happens.
