Painvon Capsule is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat osteoarthritis of the knee and hip. It works by blocking certain enzymes that cause inflammation, helping to reduce pain, swelling, and stiffness, and improving joint movement.

Yes. Painvon Capsule contains polmacoxib, which is a selective COX‑2 NSAID, developed to reduce pain and swelling with the aim of fewer stomach and heart‑related side effects compared with some older NSAIDs like celecoxib or etoricoxib, though careful monitoring is still needed.​

Individuals should not take Painvon Capsule if they are allergic to polmacoxib or other NSAIDs, have active stomach or intestinal bleeding or ulcers, severe liver or kidney disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe heart disease, or soon after heart bypass surgery. Your doctor will screen for these risks first.

Yes. Serious stomach or intestinal bleeding, ulcers, or holes can occur without warning during Painvon Capsule use. Stop the medicine and seek urgent care if you pass black stools, vomit blood, or have severe, persistent stomach pain.​

While on Painvon Capsule treatment, extra care is needed if older than 65 years, a smoker, drink alcohol regularly, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, fluid retention or swelling, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, or a history of ulcers or GI bleeding.​

Yes. Painvon Capsule can cause fluid retention, raise blood pressure, worsen kidney function, and affect liver tests. Your doctor may monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and liver enzymes during treatment.

Serious side effects of Painvon Capsule include chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, weakness on one side, or slurred speech (possible heart attack or stroke), black stools, blood in vomit, or severe belly pain (GI bleeding/ulcer), swelling of face/lips/tongue, breathing trouble (severe allergy), etc. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
