How Ornihex Products work
Ornidazole + Chlorhexidine Gluconate is a combination of two medicines: Ornidazole + Chlorhexidine Gluconate1 and Ornidazole + Chlorhexidine Gluconate2 which treat mouth infections. Ornidazole + Chlorhexidine Gluconate1 is an antibiotic which kills the bacteria and other microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Ornidazole + Chlorhexidine Gluconate2 is an antiseptic which binds to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, tartar and other mouth infections.
In Depth Information for Ornihex Products
- Apply it over the affected area with a clean fingertip, three to four times a day or as directed by your doctor.
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Once you apply the medication, wait for at least 30 minutes before eating and drinking anything.
- Avoid getting it in the eyes or nose. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
