Oseltamivir Phosphate is used in the treatment and prevention of influenza (flu). It is also used in the treatment of H1N1 influenza (Swine flu). It would be advised by your doctor when you have symptoms of influenza (flu) or if there is influenza virus outbreak in your community.

Olsivir Capsule is an antiviral medicine used for the treatment of influenza (flu) caused by influenza A and B viruses in adults, adolescents, and children aged 1 year and older, when symptoms have been present for no more than 48 hours. It is also used for the prevention of influenza after close contact with an infected person.
Q. How soon should Olsivir Capsule be started for best results?
Olsivir Capsule should be started as early as possible, ideally within 48 hours of the onset of flu symptoms, for effective treatment. Starting treatment later than this may reduce its benefit. For prevention, it should be started within 2 days of exposure to an infected person.
Q. Can Olsivir Capsule be used to prevent influenza?
Yes. Olsivir Capsule can be used for the prevention of influenza in adults, adolescents, and children aged 1 year and older following close contact with a person who has influenza. It is not a substitute for vaccination, which remains the preferred method for preventing flu.
