How Kofmol Plus Products work

Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine is combination of four medicines: Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine1, Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine2, Paracetamol and Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine4. Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine2 is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever. Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine1 is a stimulant which increases the effectiveness of Paracetamol and decreases sleepiness due to Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine2. Caffeine + Cetirizine + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine4 is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from stuffiness in the nose.

Q. Are there any foods which I have to avoid while taking Kofmol Plus Tablet?
Kofmol Plus Tablet contains caffeine. So, it is preferable to avoid medicines or food that contain caffeine. Foods like coffee, tea, cola drinks and chocolate should be avoided as they may add to your total caffeine intake. Increased caffeine intake can cause difficulty in sleeping, you may experience tremors and/or have chest discomfort. Also, avoid drinking alcohol (beer, wine, etc.) while taking this medicine.
Q. Can the use of Kofmol Plus Tablet cause sleepiness or drowsiness?
Yes, Kofmol Plus Tablet may make you feel drowsy or may cause you to fall asleep during your daily activities. Avoid driving a car, operating machinery, working at heights or participating in potentially dangerous activities until you know how the medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such episodes while taking this medicine.

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having serious side effects and toxicity. If the recommended doses do not relieve your symptoms or there is an increased severity of your symptoms, please consult your doctor.
Q. Are there any contraindications associated with the use of Kofmol Plus Tablet?
Yes, use of Kofmol Plus Tablet should be avoided if you have high blood pressure (hypertension), any underlying serious heart condition or cardiovascular disorder, any history of stomach ulcers or overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). However, it can be taken if your doctor is aware of your conditions and advises you to take it. The use of Kofmol Plus Tablet should also be avoided if you are taking antidepressant drugs. These drugs, called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), may include phenelzine and isocarboxazid or tricyclic antidepressants like imipramine and amitriptyline.
Q. Can I breastfeed while taking Kofmol Plus Tablet?
No, it is not advisable to breastfeed while using Kofmol Plus Tablet. This medicine contains Cetirizine, an antihistamine which can pass into the breast milk and may harm the baby. Inform your doctor if you are advised to take this medicine while you are breastfeeding the baby.
