How Huflox-RC Products work
Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril is a combination of three medicines: Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril1, Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril2 and Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril3 which treat diarrhoea. Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril1 is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril2 is also an antibiotic which kills the bacteria and other microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Ofloxacin + Ornidazole + Racecadotril3 has an anti-secretory effect. It reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine which decreases fluid loss during diarrhoea.

- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.

- It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids and a healthy diet while taking the medicine.

Q. What if I give too much Huflox-RC Oral Suspension by mistake?
Though an extra dose of Huflox-RC Oral Suspension is unlikely to harm, you must immediately speak to the doctor. The reason being, overdose may cause unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat). In case you notice any of these side effects, rush to your child’s doctor on an immediate basis.

Usually, Huflox-RC Oral Suspension does not enter into the central nervous system and lacks the potential to cause serious side effects such as neurotoxicity. However, if given to children aged less than 2 years of age, it may enter the brain as they have underdeveloped membranes. Consult your child’s doctor before giving Huflox-RC Oral Suspension in such a condition.

Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Huflox-RC Oral Suspension?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
