How FM Products work
Diclofenac + Serratiopeptidase + Doxycycline is a combination of three medicines: Diclofenac, Serratiopeptidase and Doxycycline. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain, fever and inflammation (redness and swelling). Serratiopeptidase is an enzyme which works by breaking down abnormal proteins at the site of inflammation, and promotes healing. Doxycycline is an antibiotic which stops the growth of bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Patient Concerns about FM Products
Frequently asked questions about FM Products
Frequently asked questions about FM Products
Q. What is FM KIT used for?
FM KIT is a multi-action medicine used to treat bacterial infections that are accompanied by significant pain, swelling, and inflammation. It is commonly prescribed for conditions like dental infections, post-operative pain and swelling, and certain soft tissue or joint infections.
Q. My dentist prescribed FM KIT after a tooth extraction. Why do I need an antibiotic with a painkiller?
After dental procedures like an extraction, there is often pain and swelling, as well as a risk of developing a bacterial infection. FM KIT is ideal because the doxycycline (antibiotic) works to prevent or treat any infection, while the diclofenac and serratiopeptidase work together to effectively manage the post-procedure pain and swelling, helping you to recover more comfortably.
Q. How is FM KIT administered, and should I take it with food?
You should swallow FM KIT whole with a full glass of water. It is very important to take this medicine with food, or just after a meal, to help prevent stomach upset and acidity, which can be a side effect of both diclofenac and doxycycline present in FM KIT. Also, try to remain upright for at least 30 minutes after taking it.
Q. How quickly will I feel relief after taking FM KIT?
You can expect to feel some relief from your pain within about an hour of taking FM KIT. The effects of swelling and the infection will become more noticeable over the next few days of consistent use.
Q. Can I stop taking FM KIT once my pain and swelling go away?
No. It is extremely important that you complete the full course of FM KIT as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel better. Stopping this medicine too early can lead to the infection returning, and can contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Q. Will FM KIT make my skin more sensitive to the sun?
Yes. The doxycycline component of FM KIT can make your skin much more sensitive to sunlight, a side effect known as photosensitivity. While taking this medicine, you should try to avoid prolonged sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen and protective clothing when you are outdoors.
