Gentamicin + Dexamethasone is a combination of two medicines: Gentamicin + Dexamethasone1 and Gentamicin + Dexamethasone2. Gentamicin + Dexamethasone1 is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Gentamicin + Dexamethasone2 is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause redness, swelling and itching.

Using Debec G Cream for longer than recommended by your doctor may suppress adrenal gland function and increase the risk of cataracts (clouding of the eye lens). Also, after using Debec G Cream, it may cause temporary blurring of vision, and you should avoid driving until your vision clears.
Q. Can I still use Debec G Cream if the bottle is open but not yet expired?
You can keep the unopened (sealed) bottle of Debec G Cream until its expiry date. However, once opened, use it within 28 days (4 weeks) even if it has not expired. Discard any remaining medicine after this period. Also, make sure to store Debec G Cream at room temperature, keeping it away from light.
