Coenzyme Q10 + Levo-carnitine + Zinc Oxide + Selenium is a combination of four medicines: Coenzyme Q10 + Levo-carnitine + Zinc Oxide + Selenium1, Coenzyme Q10 + Levo-carnitine + Zinc Oxide + Selenium2, Coenzyme Q10 + Levo-carnitine + Zinc Oxide + Selenium3 and Coenzyme Q10 + Levo-carnitine + Zinc Oxide + Selenium4. Coenzyme Q10 + Levo-carnitine + Zinc Oxide + Selenium1 is an antioxidant which protects the body from damage by chemicals (free radicals). Q. Is Carnimac Tablet a steroid?

Carnimac Tablet is not a steroid. It contains Levo-carnitine which is a type of amino acid (made from the amino acids lysine and methionine). It helps in transporting fats to the cells, where fats get metabolized in order to produce energy. It is used to treat primary and secondary Levo-carnitine deficiency.

Q. When can a carnitine deficiency occur?

Carnitine deficiency may be of two types, primary and secondary. Primary is genetic and may show symptoms by five years of age. Whereas, secondary may occur due to certain disorders like kidney problems (chronic kidney failure) and use of antibiotics that reduces its absorption and increases its excretion.

Q. Does warfarin have any effect on Carnimac Tablet?

In some patients, warfarin when taken along with Carnimac Tablet may increase the time required for the formation of blood clot. Hence, before starting Carnimac Tablet, inform your doctor if you are taking warfarin.

Q. What is the best time to take Carnimac Tablet?

Carnimac Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Generally, it is advised to be taken 3-4 times daily, preferably with meals or after meals.

Q. Can Carnimac Tablet be taken by diabetics?

Yes, Carnimac Tablet can be taken by patients with diabetes. However, it is important to know that it contains sucrose. Some studies have shown that it may improve insulin sensitivity. Along with that, it may also be helpful in relieving nerve pain.

Q. Does Carnimac Tablet cause diarrhea?

Carnimac Tablet may very rarely cause diarrhea. This effect of the medicine can be reduced by decreasing the dose of Carnimac Tablet. But, if you are taking oral solution then take it slowly or dilute it more.
