X - Ray PNS - Lateral view

X - Ray PNS - Lateral view is also known as sinus X-ray. It is an imaging test that uses a small amount of radiation through the chin at an angle. It is used to obtain diagnostic information about the bony structures of the front of the head and especially regarding frontal sinuses and maxillary sinuses. The test is used to detect sinusitis which is usually caused by a bacterial infection that develops after a viral infection.

An x-ray can show if the sinuses are filled with something other than air. If the treatment doesn't work to clear the sinuses, then other specialized x-ray tests may be done to identify the blockage.

It is a safe and painless test to visualize PNS. The best way to get rid of a sinus infection is by drinking plenty of water, eating immune system-boosting foods, and by the use of over-the-counter medications.
