What is Rabivax-S Vaccine?

Rabivax-S is a purified inactivated rabies vaccine used for both pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies. It contains inactivated rabies virus grown on Vero cell lines. Rabivax-S stimulates the production of antibodies that provide immunity against future rabies virus exposure. It is essential to take the vaccine doses per the doctor's advice for adequate protection against the disease.

Who should get vaccinated?

• Individuals exposed to potentially rabid animals (bites, scratches, or saliva contact on broken skin).
• People in high-risk professions such as veterinarians, animal handlers, laboratory workers, and travelers to rabies-endemic regions.

Administration (For Adults Only):

It will be administered by a trained healthcare professional. Kindly do not self-administer. 

• For Post-exposure: Immediately wash bite wounds thoroughly with soap and plenty of water for 15 minutes to reduce the risk of infection. The vaccine is administered in five doses on days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28.
• For Pre-exposure: Usually 3 doses on Days 0, 7, and 21 or 28.
