What is Rabishield 50 Injection?

Rabishield 50 is a life-saving injection used for post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) against the rabies virus. It containsRabies Human Monoclonal Antibody (RMAb), which is a highly purified antibody that binds to the rabies virus and prevents it from spreading in the body. When used in combination with a rabies vaccine, it offers immediate passive protection after an animal bite or scratch.

Who should get vaccinated?

Anyone who has been bitten, scratched, or licked on broken skin by a potentially rabid animal.

Administration (For Adults Only):

It will be administered by a trained healthcare professional. Kindly do not self-administer.

Given once, preferably at the same time as the first dose of the rabies vaccine (Day 0) and after that a dose of vaccine is given again on days 3, 7, and 14.
The full dose is infiltrated around and into the wound site. Any remaining volume is injected intramuscularly at a site away from the vaccine injection.
