CECT Chest Upper Abdomen
The CECT (Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography) Chest Upper Abdomen is a test conducted for detailed images of the upper abdomen using contrast material, X-ray machines, and computers. The contrast material is a dye that gives a clear picture of the organs, and the rotating beams of the X-ray provide a three-dimensional image of the organs.
This procedure helps detect kidney stones, gallstones, and any injury or infection of the abdomen and the pelvic region. It also helps diagnose cancers of the kidney, liver, pancreas, and ovaries. Furthermore, it helps diagnose diseases, such as Crohn’s disease and appendicitis.
This procedure is painless as it is non-invasive. A blood urea and creatinine test is advised before the procedure to ensure safety from the contrast dye.
