Understanding Allergy, Individual Marker, PEA
What is Allergy, Individual Marker, PEA?
Pea allergy test is an allergen-specific blood test to measure the IgE antibodies produced against pea. The sample is drawn from the vein in your arm. IgE levels above 0.7 kU/L are considered positive for allergic reactions.
If you are allergic to peas, ingesting them can trigger an allergic reaction immediately or within a few hours in your body. You will experience allergic symptoms such as itching, skin rashes, wheezing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramping, swollen lips, dizziness, fainting, anaphylaxis. While consuming other legumes like lentils and peanuts, you should be careful as your pea allergy may trigger cross-allergy. If you find yourself allergic to pea, avoid taking it again. Anti IgE medicine will be given for treating the allergic symptoms.
