Ustekinumab is a monoclonal antibody that works by targeting and neutralizing specific proteins (interleukin-12 and interleukin-23) in the body that contribute to inflammation and immune responses.
Common side effects of Ustekinumab
Vomiting, Headache, Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages), Injection site redness, Vaginal infection, Bronchitis (inflammation of the airways), Itching, Urinary tract infection, Sinus inflammation
Inform your doctor if you have any active or a history of recurrent infection before starting the treatment with Ustekinumab. Also, Ustekinumab may lower your ability to fight infections, thus contact your doctor immediately if you develop any signs or symptoms of infection after the start of the treatment.
Seek immediate medical help in case you experience severe allergic reactions, including shortness of breath, swelling, etc.
Consult your doctor before taking any vaccination while on treatment with Ustekinumab.
