How Trastuzumab Deruxtecan works
Trastuzumab Deruxtecan finds cancer cells that have a lot of the HER2 protein on their surface. These HER2-positive cells grow and multiply faster than normal cells. Once it attaches to the HER2-positive cancer cell, it’s pulled inside. Inside the cancer cell, Trastuzumab Deruxtecan causes damage and kills the cancer cell directly without affecting nearby healthy cells.
