How Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim works
Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
