Ephedrine is a decongestant. It narrows the small blood vessels in your nose. This relieves congestion or stuffiness in your nose. Diphenhydramine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Sodium Citrate is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe, and lungs making it easier to cough out. Menthol is an organic compound that produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
