Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate + Sodium Alginate Uses
Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate+Sodium Alginate is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux).
How Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate + Sodium Alginate works
Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate + Sodium Alginate is a combination of sodium alginate and potassium hydrogen carbonate. Sodium alginate forms a protective gel layer that floats on top of the stomach contents. Potassium hydrogen carbonate helps this protective layer form and remain on the stomach contents. Together, they create a floating barrier that helps prevent stomach acid, bile, and digestive enzymes from flowing back into the food pipe (esophagus). This helps protect the esophagus from irritation and relieves symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and reflux-related indigestion.
