How Midostaurin works
Midostaurin works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that triggers the multiplication of cancer cells. This helps stop the spread of mast and cancer cells.
Common side effects of Midostaurin
Febrile neutropenia, Nausea, Mucositis, Vomiting, Headache, Petechiae (red or purple spot caused by bleeding into the skin), Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Nosebleeds, Infection, Increased glucose level in blood, Upper respiratory tract infection
Take Midostaurin exactly as your doctor tells you.
Your doctor may prescribe medicines to help prevent the nausea and vomiting during treatment with Midostaurin.
Take Midostaurin with food.
Do not take Midostaurin for a condition for which it was not prescribed. Do not give Midostaurin to other people, even if they have the same condition or symptoms you have. It may harm them.
