How metformin + ursodeoxycholic acid works
This is a combination of two medicines: Metformin and ursodeoxycholic acid which treat fatty liver with diabetes. Metformin is a biguanide which works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver, increasing insulin sensitivity, and improving liver blood flow. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is a naturally occurring bile acid which protects the liver cells from toxins and helps the liver to perform its normal functions.
