Linezolid + Sulbactam is a combination of two medicines: Linezolid and Sulbactam. Linezolid is an antibiotic. It stops the bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Sulbactam blocks the action of the enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate the antibiotics.
Common side effects of Linezolid + Sulbactam
Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Headache, Decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets)
Linezolid + Sulbactam should be taken with food but at the same time every day.
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
It may cause dizziness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how medicine affects you.
It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects.
Discontinue Linezolid + Sulbactam and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
