Elagolix is used in the treatment of endometriosis.
How Elagolix works
Elagolix works by reducing the levels of certain hormones that contribute to endometriosis. It inhibits the signals that stimulate the production of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). As a result, estrogen and progesterone levels decrease, helping to relieve symptoms like menstrual cramps and pelvic pain.
