How it works
Dothiepin inhibits the neuronal re-uptake of noradrenaline in the CNS. Its antidepressant activity appears to be related with inhibition of monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake.
Common side effects
Paranoid delusions, Postural hypotension (low blood pressure), Cholestatic jaundice, Constipation, Convulsion, Diarrhoea, Drowsiness, Dry mouth, Hypomania, Increased sweating, Extremes of being happy or sad, Nausea, Rash, Tachycardia, Tremor, Vomiting
