How Difluprednate + Gatifloxacin works
Difluprednate + Gatifloxacin is a combination of two medicines: Difluprednate and Gatifloxacin. Difluprednate is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red swollen and itchy. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria in the eye by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. This treats your infection.

Expert advice for Difluprednate + Gatifloxacin
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before putting in these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- The burning sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
- Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
