Degarelix is used in the treatment of female infertility and prostate cancer.
How Degarelix works
Degarelix lowers the amount of testosterone (a male hormone) produced by the body. This may slow or stop the spread and growth of prostate cancer cells that need testosterone to grow.
Common side effects of Degarelix
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness), Weight gain, Hot flashes, Increased liver enzymes, Pain, Erythema (skin redness), Swelling, Induration (hardening of a normally soft tissue or organ), Nodules, Fatigue, High blood pressure, Back pain, Joint pain, Urinary tract infection
