How Ciprofloxacin + Phenazopyridine works

Ciprofloxacin + Phenazopyridine is a combination of two medicines: Ciprofloxacin and Phenazopyridine. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing. Phenazopyridine is urinary tract analgesic (pain reliever). It is excreted in the urine, where it exerts a pain relieving effect on the lining of the urinary tract. This action helps relieve pain, burning and irritation.
