Benzocaine+Metronidazole is used in the treatment of mouth ulcers.

How Benzocaine + Metronidazole works

Benzocaine + Metronidazole is a combination of two medicines: Benzocaine and Metronidazole which treat mouth sores (ulcers). Benzocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases pain sensation in the mouth. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause gum disease, ulcers and other mouth infections by damaging bacterial DNA.
