How Ambroxol + Doxycycline works

Ambroxol + Doxycycline is a combination of two medicines: Ambroxol and Doxycycline which treat respiratory tract infections. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Doxycycline is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

  • Ambroxol + Doxycycline can be taken with or without food, better to take it at the same time every day.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
