How to use Pacimol Oral Suspension

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Pacimol Oral Suspension is to be taken with food.

How Pacimol Oral Suspension works

Pacimol Oral Suspension is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Pacimol Oral Suspension. Taking Paracetamol/Acetaminophen with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy
SAFE
Pacimol Oral Suspension is safe to use during pregnancy.
Adequate and well-controlled human studies have shown low or no risk.
Lactation
SAFE
Pacimol Oral Suspension is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Pacimol Oral Suspension does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Pacimol Oral Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Pacimol Oral Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Pacimol Oral Suspension contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.
Liver
CAUTION
Pacimol Oral Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Pacimol Oral Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Pacimol Oral Suspension is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

FAQs

Q. What if my child vomits after taking Pacimol?

If your child vomits in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Pacimol tablets or syrup, give him/her the same dose again. If your child vomits more than 30 minutes after a dose of tablets or syrup, you do not need to give him/her another dose, until the next normal dose.

Q. When will my child feel better after taking Pacimol?

Usually your child will feel better after about half an hour of taking Pacimol.

Q. How often can I give Pacimol to my child?

You should only give four doses of Pacimol in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not give Pacimol for more than 3 days to your child without first talking to your doctor.

Q. Can I give Pacimol syrup to my child for cold?

Pacimol along with relieving fever also helps in controlling problems associated with cold such as headache and earache associated with cold. However, it does help relieve stuffy nose and cough for which doctor’s advice is required.

Q. Does Pacimol make babies sleepy?

No, Pacimol does not make babies sleepy, contrary to the common belief.

Q. Is Pacimol safe for children?

If used as directed by the physician, Pacimol is safe for children.

Q. Is Pacimol an antibiotic?

No, Pacimol is not an antibiotic. It works as a painkiller and as a medicine which brings down high fever.

Q. Can I give my child Pacimol and ibuprofen together?

Ibuprofen and Pacimol are safe painkillers which can be given to children, though both should not be used together. Instead, if you have given your child Pacimol and still he/she is feverish or in pain you could try ibuprofen instead, when the next dose is due.
