How to use Oftum TZ Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Oftum TZ Tablet is to be taken with food.
Taking it empty stomach can cause stomach upset.

How Oftum TZ Tablet works

Oftum TZ Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Ofloxacin and Tinidazole. Ofloxacin kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Tinidazole kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Oftum TZ Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy

Oftum TZ Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Oftum TZ Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Oftum TZ Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
CAUTION
Oftum TZ Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Oftum TZ Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Oftum TZ Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Oftum TZ Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
