Ifosfamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis

Description of Ifosfamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis

Hemorrhagic cystitis is inflammation of the urinary bladder with bleeding resulting from damage to the bladder lining and its blood vessels. Ifosfamide is a drug used in the treatment of solid tumors. Ifosfamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis is a potentially deadly complication associated with ifosfamide therapy. It causes bladder bleeding (hemorrhage), painful urination (dysuria) and blood in the urine (hematuria).
