Benefits of Varun

1. Urolithiasis
Urolithiasis is the stone formed in the urinary tract. According to Ayurveda, it is considered as Mutrashmari. Mutrashmari (renal calculi) is a disease of Vata-Kapha origin which causes Sanga (obstruction) in the Mutravaha Srotas (urinary system). Urinary stones are classified on the basis of doshas as Vata, Pitta, Kapha and treatment is given accordingly. Varun is one of the herbs which helps to break renal calculi and reduce the size of the stone. This is because of its Asmaribhedan (penetration) property. Varun also helps to expel it out it because of its Mutral (diuretic) nature.
Tips:
a. Take ½-1 teaspoon Varun powder.
b. Have it with honey after taking food.

2. Urinary Tract Infection
Urinary tract infection is described under the broad term of Mutrakcchra in Ayurveda. Mutra means ooze and krichra mean painful. Thus, dysuria and painful urination are called as Mutrakcchra. In the case of urinary tract infection, Varun helps to control burning sensation. This is because of its Mutral (diuretic) effect. It increases urine flow and reduces the symptoms of UTI like burning sensation during urination.
Tips:
a. Take ½-1 teaspoon Varun powder.
b. Have it with honey after taking food.

3. Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common cause of lower urinary tract symptoms in aging men. In Ayurveda, BPH is similar to Vatasthila. In this condition, aggravated Vata gets localized in between urinary bladder and rectum. This produces a dense fixed firm glandular swelling called Vatashtila or BPH. Taking Varun helps to balance Vata and control the size of the prostate gland. It also helps to reduce the symptoms like painful or frequent urination due to its Mutral (diuretic) nature.
Tips:
a. Take ½-1 teaspoon Varun powder.
b. Have it with honey after taking food.

4. Loss of appetite
Varun helps to improve appetite when it is made a part of the daily diet. In Ayurveda, loss of appetite is due to Agnimandya (weak digestion). It is caused by an aggravation of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas leading to incomplete digestion of food. This causes insufficient secretion of gastric juice in the stomach resulting in loss of appetite. Varun stimulates digestion and improves appetite. This is due to its Deepan (appetizer) property.
