Colicaid Infant & Toddler Drop | For Infant Colic, Griping Pain & Flatulence

Colicaid drops are an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine. They help relieve gas-related problems such as bloating, discomfort, and cramps in infants and young children. They work by breaking down gas bubbles in the stomach, making it easier for the baby to pass gas and feel better.

Give Colicaid drops to your child by mouth. It can be given with food or milk. The doctor can advise better. It is usually given 4 times a day before feeds or meals. The dose should be decided depending on your child’s age, weight, and condition. Do not give more than the recommended dose. If your child vomits within 30 minutes, you may give the dose again. If it is close to the next dose, skip it and continue as usual. Do not give a double dose.

Colicaid drops are usually well-tolerated. However, in rare cases, there can be mild side effects such as nausea, vomiting, or constipation. Usually, these effects will go away on their own. If they persist or worsen, talk to the doctor. Do not use these drops if your child has any allergy to any of their ingredients.

Before starting Colicaid drops, tell the doctor about your child’s medical history. This includes any existing kidney or liver disorders, abdominal blockage, and any other medicines being given. Simethicone, a component in this medicine, can interfere with the absorption of thyroid medicines. If your child takes thyroid medication, ask the doctor about when to give doses.

What is the recommended dosage for Colicaid Infant & Toddler Drop?

The dose of Colicaid drops depends on the child’s age, body weight, and clinical condition. It should always be used as advised by a doctor.

• Infants (below 6 months): 5–10 drops, four times daily, preferably 15 minutes before feed
• Infants (6–12 months): 10–20 drops, four times daily, preferably 15 minutes before feed
• Children (above 1 year): 20–25 drops, four times daily, preferably 15 minutes before a meal

Alternatively, follow the dosage and instructions provided by the doctor.

What if you miss a dose?

If a dose is missed, give it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

What if you take an overdose?

Colicaid drops are generally safe when used as recommended. Do not exceed the specified dosage. If you suspect your baby has overdosed, see a doctor immediately.
