SII TD-Vac

SII TD-Vac Vaccine is used for active immunisation against diphtheria and tetanus in adults and in children aged 7 years and older, helping the body make protective antibodies.

SII TD-Vac Vaccine should not be given to anyone who had a severe reaction after a previous dose of this vaccine. Also, a second or later dose must be avoided if a child had a serious reaction earlier.

Individuals with HIV infection, whether they have symptoms or not, should still be immunised with combined vaccines according to standard schedules, so SII TD-Vac Vaccine remains recommended.

Serious side effects are rare. Temporary tenderness, redness, or occasional fever are common after receiving SII TD-Vac Vaccine. However, if you develop worrying symptoms such as trouble breathing, widespread hives, or fainting after any vaccine, seek urgent care and inform your doctor before receiving another dose of SII TD-Vac Vaccine.

A single SII TD-Vac Vaccine dose is recommended per visit, and primary immunisation from age 7 years typically includes two doses 4 to 8 weeks apart, followed by a third dose at least 6 months later. After this, booster doses are generally given about every 10 years.

Yes. SII TD-Vac Vaccine may be given at the same visit as measles vaccine, polio vaccines (OPV or IPV), hepatitis B vaccine, yellow fever vaccine, and vitamin A supplementation, according to official recommendations.
