How Azarga Products work

Brinzolamide + Timolol is a combination of two medicines: Brinzolamide + Timolol1 and Brinzolamide + Timolol2. Brinzolamide + Timolol1 is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor while Brinzolamide + Timolol2 is a beta blocker. They work by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.

Q. What is Azarga Eye Drop used for?

Azarga Eye Drop is used to lower high pressure inside the eye in adults with conditions such as open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, especially when a single medicine is not enough to control eye pressure. Lowering eye pressure may help reduce the risk of vision loss and optic nerve damage.

Q. Who should not use Azarga Eye Drop?

People should not use Azarga Eye Drop if they are allergic to brinzolamide, timolol, sulphonamides, or any ingredient in Azarga Eye Drop. It is also not safe for people with asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), serious heart conditions like heart failure, very slow heartbeat, certain types of heart block, severe kidney disease, or metabolic acidosis.

Q. Can Azarga Eye Drop affect the heart or lungs?

Yes. Because Azarga Eye Drop is partly absorbed into the bloodstream, it may slow your heart rate, worsen heart failure, or trigger breathing problems like bronchospasm in people with asthma or COPD. Patients with these conditions should avoid Azarga Eye Drop or use it only under strict medical supervision.

Q. Can Azarga Eye Drop cause vision problems?

Blurred vision, eye pain, eye irritation, or corneal swelling may occur after using Azarga Eye Drop. Sometimes it may worsen corneal conditions, especially if you already have eye surface disease or wear contact lenses. Always remove soft contact lenses before using the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Q. What are the serious side effects of Azarga Eye Drop?

Serious side effects of Azarga Eye Drop may include very slow heartbeat, chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden vision changes, fainting, severe skin reactions, or allergic shock. If you experience these symptoms, stop using Azarga Eye Drop and seek emergency medical attention.

No. Azarga Eye Drop is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years, as its safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been established.
