Polymyxin B + Chloramphenicol + Dexamethasone is a combination medication used in the treatment of eye infections and inflammation. Polymyxin B works by disrupting the integrity of the bacterial cell membrane, leading to leakage of cell contents and eventual bacterial cell death. Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic with activity against a wide range of bacteria. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the bacterial ribosome. Dexamethasone belongs to a class of anti-inflammatory medications. It works by suppressing inflammation and immune responses.
