Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate is used in treatment of cough to soothe the throat or as an expectorant. It is also used as sweetener or flavouring agent in pharmaceutical preparations.
How it works
Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate is found in liquorice root. It is known to decrease cough and swelling as well as helps in thinning of the mucus. It is also used as a flavouring agent.

- Do not take monoammonium glycyrrhizinate in large amounts, as this may lead to increased blood pressure, reduced potassium levels in body, fluid retention, swelling in body or serious heart problems.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant as monoammonium glycyrrhizinate may induce labor before the expected date of delivery.
- Do not take if patient is allergic to monoammonium glycyrrhizinate or any of its ingredients.
