Lactase is used as an enzyme supplement to help people who have trouble digesting the milk and other dairy products (lactose intolerance). Lactose is a type of sugar found in milk products.

How it works

Lactase belongs to a class of drugs called digestive enzymes. Lactase is an enzyme that splits the milk sugar lactose, to produce the sugars glucose and galactose and thus help in the digestion of milk and other dairy products.
