Etoposide Uses
Etoposide is used in the treatment of testicular cancer and small cell lung cancer.
How Etoposide works
Etoposide is an anti-cancer medication. It works by suppressing the activity of an enzyme (topoisomerase II) involved in DNA multiplication of the cancer cells. This slows the growth of cancer cells and eventually kills them.
Common side effects of Etoposide
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Diarrhea, Hair loss, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Constipation, Decreased appetite, Dizziness, Infection, Liver toxicity, Skin pigmentation, Weakness, Leukemia (blood cancer), Anaphylactic reaction, Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats), Myocardial infarction, High blood pressure, Hypotension (low blood pressure), Mucositis
