Understanding Allergy, Individual Marker, MUTTON
What is Allergy, Individual Marker, MUTTON?
Allergy, Individual Marker, mutton test helps in determining if you have an allergy to mutton. It is a test that measures the amount of allergen-specific IgE in the blood. Immunoglobulin E is a type of antibody that is related to allergic reactions. Normally, it is present in smaller amounts in the blood. An elevated IgE result means that you are likely to have an allergy. But the amount of IgE present doesn’t predict the severity of the reaction.
If you have symptoms that suggest an allergic reaction to mutton such as nausea, itching, eczema, coughing, or sneezing, this allergy test can help detect the cause of it. The test is also done to determine and monitor the efficacy of the immunotherapy treatment.
Interpreting Allergy, Individual Marker, MUTTON results
Interpretations
* If your total IgE level is increased, it usually indicates that you are suffering from one or more allergies. Sometimes, increased levels are also associated with parasitic infections. * An elevated IgE indicates an allergic process but does not indicate what a person is allergic to. In general, the greater the number of things a person is allergic to, the higher is the IgE level.
