Expert advice for Teclistamab
- Be vigilant about monitoring for side effects, especially during the initial "step-up" doses. If you notice any unusual symptoms like fever, shortness of breath, or low blood pressure, contact your doctor immediately.
- Drinking plenty of fluids can help manage some side effects, such as fatigue and nausea. Hydration also supports overall health during treatment.
- Since Teclistamab can weaken your immune system, take precautions to avoid infections. Wash your hands regularly, avoid close contact with sick individuals, and steer clear of large crowds when possible.
- Regularly update your doctor on how you are feeling during the treatment. This allows them to adjust your treatment plan as needed and provide additional support for managing side effects.
- Fatigue is a common side effect of Teclistamab. Make sure to plan for rest periods in your daily routine to help your body recover and maintain your energy levels.
- Do not receive live vaccines during treatment with Teclistamab, as they may pose a risk to your health. Check with your doctor before getting any vaccinations.
- If you are of childbearing age, use effective contraception during treatment and for a period afterward to prevent potential harm to an unborn baby.
