I took my 9 month old daughter to Dr Attawar for what seemed like a diaper rash. Unfortunately,our experience with her was poor. We found out that our daughter had a case of adhesion and also she was lagging behind on one vaccine (according to her). And she made a huge deal out of it judging us for parenting etc etc. of course at the time we felt very bad. However, as we inquired more we found out that adhesion in girls is very common and happens up to 10% of all girl children born. Also modern studies call it natural and recommend no intervention in most cases. Secondly the vaccine that we were behind on had a long window during which it could be given. So we were not really behind. It's just that we didn't get it on the first day our daughter became eligible for that vaccine. Additionally Dr Attawar didn't give our daughter the flu vaccine during the visit which she should have. So all in all I feel she made a big deal and made us panic about things that were handle-able. It's important for a pediatrician (in my view) to put parents at ease and provide recommendations that are well researched/thought out. In her case it was more admonishment than being a partner.

My unique call concern is the stupid hospital policy that I need to pay for vaccination in the pharmacy and make each visit a longer one. With Dr. Pinkoo we are highly satisfied. She is our pediatrician for the last 6 months and we are more than happy.
