Introduction

The Lorbriqua 25mg Tablet is used to treat adults with unresectable (unremovable), advanced, or recurrent forms of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It works by inhibiting an enzyme called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and thus, is only given to patients who have an alteration in this enzyme (ALK-positive NSCLC). Furthermore, this tablet is prescribed only to those patients who no longer respond to other ALK inhibitors, such as alectinib or ceritinib. Additionally, it is also effective in treating ALK-positive NSCLC that has spread to the brain.

Take this medicine with or without food, but preferably at the same time each day. Depending on the condition and response to the treatment, the doctor may alter the dose or stop treatment for a short time. Continue taking this medicine for as long as the doctor has prescribed, and do not stop suddenly.

Some common side effects of the Lorbriqua 25mg Tablet include edema (swelling in arms, legs, hands, and feet), peripheral neuropathy (numbness and tingling feeling in joints, arms, and legs), and cognitive disorders (confusion, forgetfulness, and lack of concentration or attention). It may also cause breathlessness, fatigue, weight gain, joint pain, mood changes, and diarrhea. Consult the doctor if any of these side effects are worrisome or worsen. The doctor may adjust the medicine dose and suggest ways to manage them.

Let the doctor know if you have any medical conditions such as kidney or heart disease, depression, seizures, problems with the heartbeat, or breathing problems. Also, let them know if you have high blood pressure, high levels of cholesterol, or diabetes before starting treatment with this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Some other medications may affect the working of this tablet, so tell the doctor about all the other medicines you may be taking before starting the treatment with this medicine.
